A Fresh Start on Substack has been the 'Elephant in the Room'
Should I Share My Writing on Another Platform?
Beginnings are hard
Admitting I’ve gone down the wrong road and need to make a U-turn makes me feel small, stupid, irritated, embarrassed, but it’s time I stopped being stubborn!
I write on other platforms
My writing journey started with a book blog, but barely anyone discovered me raving about my favourite fiction. What did get noticed was when I tried my hand at erotica. I posted on Literotica, blogspot and Wordpress, but I was delighted when posting sizzling stories on Medium began to earn me money for views.
I have also had short erotic stories published in several anthologies, which is heartening, and I contribute fiction to a couple of sex-positive platforms, but I began yearning to write fiction about all sorts of relationships, and not limited to dark romance.
Random facts about the person behind Posy
I’m married and have an anxious dog. I’m happiest at home, reading, writing, watching TV, but I enjoy travel, especially to destinations with beautiful, historic buildings.
I love chocolate, mojitos, rainbows, deserted beaches and audiobooks. I dislike pilchards, people who let their dogs too close to mine, ocean cruises and heights - I once had a panic attack visiting a lighthouse.
The 80s were a fabulous decade for both music and fashion, but right now I’m wearing fitness leggings and listening to Declan McKenna.
I’d like to be discovered by a new audience
I hear Substack is getting more fiction-friendly, so in this space I plan to share fiction, predominantly in the genre of Romance. I have stories ranging from young adult (YA) to those aimed at/about a more mature audience (will include some sexual aspects).
Some stories will be short, others will be serialized (expect cliff-hangers).
Follow me if you like slow-burn, and getting in the protagonist’s headspace, some plots will be cozy and others a little more chilling.
Let me be specific
To ease into this, I plan to publish content for subscribers weekly. Free subscribers can expect a short story or up-date on my writing mid-week. I may also share the beginning of a story for free, but put the rest of it behind my subscribers’ paywall on Ream.
I have set up a tier to share my Romances with ‘more heat’ on Substack. That is called Velvet Affairs and also gets a weekly injection of free fiction.

Awww…I hope you’ve been able to get that new audience! I’m looking forward to reading your work.
